I have been using standing desks for years. Since I use my computer a lot I know it important to not sit at my desk for hours on end. There are two types of desks. Manual and Electric. I, like probably you, have a lot of things on my desk. Trying to lift the desk up and down manually with it covered in things is probably going to end up in my never raising and lowering the desk. Counterproductive. I feel vindicated by my choice for the electric standing desk. I use it in stand up mode a lot. Standing up during a meeting or webinar definitely improves my engagement and energy
Knowing what a fan of standing desks I am, FlexiSpot reached out to me to ask me to see how their desk compares. Spoiler alert: It is significantly better and I love it!
Sitting is Worse Than Smoking
Do a Google Search for “Sitting is worse than smoking.” But we know we need to be moving more and sitting less. Alternating between sitting and standing can not only be good for you health, but improve your mood! Adjustable standing desks also let you get the right height to reduce neck and back pain. I read multiple articles about sitting and every one recommended a standing desk.
Researchers analyzed 13 studies of sitting time and activity levels. They found that those who sat for more than eight hours a day with no physical activity had a risk of dying similar to that posed by obesity and smoking.

What Makes the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk Amazing
Larger Desk Space
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the Q8 is how much larger it was. A 55″ width. Now that I have been using the desk for a couple of months it is a significant difference. As a teacher I have books and paperwork in addition to my coffee and laptop. My desk seems less crowded even though I have a LOT on it!

Solid Wood Surface
Not only did my previous desk have a smaller desk surface, it came in 3 pieces. This created 2 seams in the desktop. This also was a point of weakness.
The FlexiSpot Q8 is a solid piece of Bamboo.
The FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk desk is STURDY!
If I am frustrated and pound on the desk it is not going to send my stuff flying. Pushing down on the desktop to stand up (when I don’t have it in standing position) doesn’t phase the desk. As a mom of 5 kids and 2 dogs I need something that will hold up to unexpected stress. The FlexiSpot Q8 is it!!
Enhanced Frame
You have to see it to understand why you need an enhanced frame. The motor is not some bulky cylinder under the desk.
The power is in the legs!!
As mentioned before this desk is STURDY! The frame is the main reason for that. The motorized features are in the legs themselves and they can effortlessly raise whatever I have on my desk.
With my old desk I would move my coffee and other items before raising and lowering the desk. No more! My FlexiSpot does not even cause a ripple in my beverages. Smooth and powerful motors.
Collision Prevention
No more ruining my desk and whatever items it collided with. When lowering your standing desk you want to make sure there is nothing under it that will get in the way. I wish I paid that close of attention to what I was doing.
FlexiSpot has Collison Prevention
Why isn’t my desk lowering… oh right, it senses something in the way. Genius!! This is definitely a must have feature.
Wireless Charging
ALL
THE
TIME
I have my phone sitting right next to me… NOT plugged in.
The FlexiSpot Q8 has a wireless charging spot conveniently just to the right of where I’m sitting…. where I would set my phone down anyway.
Integrated USB Ports
A desk with integrated USB ports? Yes please! Not only that but one is standard USB A and the other is USB C (which is how my Mac and Pixel phone charge.)
Lower and Higher
The electronic controls on the desk allow me to adjust the height within a tenth of a centimeter. The 4 presets allow me to quickly go from sitting to standing. What really stuck out at me was how low it will go down and how high it will go up. I have had need to lower the desk lower than I have with other desks and still not be at the lowest setting. No matter what height you need for the varying tasks you are doing, the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk has you covered.
I Love the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk
My honest review is this is an amazing desk!! If you want a desk you will love and will last a long time consider the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk.
