If you are like me and you like to use Google Draw you may want to have your canvas be a particular size.
For general canvas resizing, look to the bottom right corner of drawing for the “grippy bars.” Click and drag this corner will resize the canvas. Warning: immediately after resizing the document adjusts the zoom so that it appears that nothing has been changed when really the size of the image is smaller.
Use the View menu to readjust the zoom on the drawing.
For a more specific resizing use the File Menu and choose Page Settings.
Page setup allows you to set the canvas size, including a custom size.
Enter in the number of inches or pixels you want your drawing to be. Try out the Ruul chrome extension to help you determine what size you need your canvas to be.

Alice, thank you for this quick and simple tutorial. I’m wondering what you would suggest someone do if they wanted to quickly trim the canvas so it fit only the exact size of the graphic present. I don’t think it makes a difference on export.
It DOES make a difference on export. You want to have it fit tightly. I use Control A to select all. Move the graphic into the upper left hand corner and then grab the bottom right hand corner of the canvas and resize manually.
Thank you! I guessed as much… had a variety of students who’s digital badges were all funky and now we’ll get them fixed! Mahalo!
Can you assign a Google Drawing on Google Classroom and choose “make a copy for each student”? I’m trying to make a mapping template in a Google apps doc, but the drawing insert in Google Docs isn’t big enough.
