Control X – Cut It Out

Control X

Control X removes the highlighted text and saves it to the clipboard. This keyboard shortcut is really helpful when you are creating documents since you often want to move bits of text around. You will use Control X when you have text in one spot but want to move it to another spot.

Move Text

Highlight the text you wish to move.
Hold down the Control key and press X. This will remove (cut) the text.
The text has been copied to the clipboard, this will allow you to paste
Place your cursor where you want to move the text to.
Paste the text by holding down the Control key and pressing V.
