Raspberry Pi is an inexpensive computer, as low as $5. It runs Linux as the operating system. Students can play Minecraft and access the internet on a Raspberry Pi computer. Essentially, Raspberry Pi is just the computer circuit board. It does not come with a computer case (you can 3D print those), power cord, keyboard, monitor, or anything else unless you purchase a kit.
