How to Use the Personalized Teacher Newsletter Add-on by AliceKeeler LLC 

1. Introduction:

This add-on helps teachers create and send personalized newsletters for their students. It streamlines the process of gathering student information, composing newsletters, and distributing them to students and guardians.

2. Getting Started:

First, open a blank Google Sheets™ where you wish to use the add-on. If you haven’t installed the add-on yet, go to the Google Workspace Marketplace™, search for “Personalized Teacher Newsletter”  and click “Install.”

3. Setting Up Teacher Information:

• Step 1: Click on the Extensions menu in Google Sheets™.
• Step 2: Select “Personalized Teacher Newsletter” and open the sidebar.
• Step 3: In the sidebar, click the “Setup Teacher Info” button.
• Step 4: Fill in your details such as name, email, class title, and preferred contact method.

4. Inserting Student Roster:

• Step 1: In the sidebar, click the “Insert Roster” button.
• Step 2: Enter student names, emails, and guardian details in the newly created “Roster” sheet.

5. Creating a Newsletter:

• Step 1: Click the “Create Newsletter” button in the sidebar.
• Step 2: Customize your newsletter using the template provided. Add general class information, specific notes for each student, and any other details you wish to include.

6. Sending the Newsletter:

• Step 1: Once your newsletter is ready, click the “Send Newsletter” button.
• Step 2: The add-on will automatically send the personalized newsletter to each student and their guardians based on the email addresses provided in the Roster.

7. Additional Features:

• Document Merge: Optionally, you can merge the newsletter into a Google Doc™ for printing or archiving.
• Customization: The add-on allows for extensive customization to cater to specific needs or preferences.
