Your privacy‑first teaching toolbox—no data ever collected.
Educator AI Assistant is a Google Workspace™ add‑on for Google Sheets™ built for teachers who want to use AI to support for planning, communication, activity building, assessment creation, and more… without sacrificing control or privacy. From outlining full lesson plans and generating quizzes to drafting parent newsletters and scheduling events, every “tool” runs entirely within your own Google sheets™ and creates outputs in your own account.
Educator AI Assistant provides a list of tools that utilize Google Gemini™ to execute.

However, you want more flexibility than just the press of a button. You want the ability to customize how the tool is built. Educator AI Assistant shows you the prompt behind the tool, it is listed in your spreadsheet to allow you maximum control to edit the prompt if desired. Or share your prompts with other teachers.
You can also create your own tools for your toolbox. Use the Tool Generator to describe what teacher tool you want, and Google Gemini™ will add it to your toolbox.
Insert a Activity Builder template to indicate what you are teaching, information about your class, and what you want included. However, unlike other Teacher AI tools, you can edit, add, or delete the inputs so you have full control over what is asked when executing the tool.
Transparency of prompting is key to Educator AI Assistant.
Not only can you see, and edit, the prompt before running the tool… but the generated prompt is saved on the Document List tab to allow you to copy and paste the prompt into gemini.google.com or your favorite LLM.
We highly recommend you utilize Educator AI Assistant in Google Gems. Create a GEM at gemini.google.com and add documents to the Gem to train it on your school policies, department norms, research articles, and other information that helps AI to really understand YOU before generating content.
All documents and prompts are stored only in your private “Document List” tab, and no data is sent or stored outside your workspace.
How It Works
Open the sidebar in Google Sheets™.
- Use the setup buttons to import pre-made tools or create your own tools.
- Edit the prompts on the tools list to make them work better for you.
- Go to the Builder sidebar to insert a new activity template.
Column A offers SUGGESTIONS for information to help build the activity you want. Such as title, standards, objectives, etc. Simply type over or add new inputs to create even better outcomes for your activity.
- Use Column B to respond to the inputs. Blanks will be skipped when generating activity prompt.
From the Builder sidebar, use the dropdown to select the tool you want (lesson plan, quiz maker, newsletter, calendar scheduler, and more).
Click Generate Selected and let the add‑on create the desired Google Doc™, Form™, Sheet™, Slides™, Calendar™ event, Tasks™, Gmail™ draft, or Classroom™ post that you requested.
Find every generated file link and the exact prompt used in your “Document List” sheet.
