Improve Google Classroom Workflow

One way to improve your workflow in Google Classroom is to utilize the “Work” list. This allows you to see a list of all your assignments from all of your classes at once.

Work

Click on the menu icon, 3 lines in the upper left-hand corner. Choose “Work” from the menu.

All Classes

By default, the list of assignments under “Work” shows all of your classes. This makes it easy to quickly assess each class.

Assess

Just as in the Stream for a class, simply click on the assignment title to open the assessment screen for that assignment.

Mark As Reviewed

Next to each assignment in the “Work” list are 3 dots. Click on the 3 dots to indicate that assignment has been reviewed. This puts it into the “Reviewed” pile. Click on “Reviewed” along the top of the “Work” list to see the assignments you have reviewed.

  1. A question regarding this and parent/guardian notifications: If I mark an assignment as reviewed, will parents of students that have not submitted anything still get the reminder notices about homework being missing?

  2. If you mark an assignment as reviewed and then a student hands work in late, will it move back to the needs to be reviewed section? I do not currently mark things reviewed because I want to be able to see when a student has turned something in late.
