Animate Items Together in Google Slides

Animate multiple items together in Google Slides. Save time with this trick.
Animate Items Together in Google Slides

Google Slides is a presentation tool in the collaboration suite of Google Docs and Drive. Like in other presentation tools you can animate the elements on the slide. If you select multiple items at once, you can animate them together.

Use animation very very sparingly.

Animations are fun to play with when you first discover them. However, animations are distracting for your audience. As a rule of thumb try not to use them. Keep information on a slide to a minimum and go to the next slide rather than trying reveal several items one at a time.

Animation

On your slide, select the element you wish to animate. Right click and choose animate.
Right click

You can also locate “Animate” under the Tools menu.

Animation Panel

Choosing animate reveals the Animations panel. By default your item will fade in when you click the mouse. There is no option to have the item appear automatically.

Animate Together

You can have multiple things you want to appear at the same time, such as an image and text. Select all of the items together and click “Add animation” in the Animations panel. You can multiple select by holding down the shift key and clicking on the items on the slide. You can also “lasso” the items to select multiple items at once.

When you choose to add animation on a group of items, they will appear together at the same time.
